We are all going through some changes around here with the arrival of Aaron and everyone is dealing with it differently. I'm adjusting to my new lack of sleep schedule and getting back into a somewhat normal routine here at the house. Fortunately we have some meals coming from the MOMS Club ladies this week and that is a huge help to me.
Leah and Mae have coped very well with the new baby and the time he demands of me. Of course Leah is content to just sit by herself all day and write, color, or work computer games which leaves Mae to entertain Isaac. Isaac on the other hand is having some issues with mommy and daddy. He's taken to throwing crying fits (very annoying) for one thing. But he has also started this strange new habit of holding his last bite of food or drink in his mouth until I either hold his nose shut so that he spews it out or he gags on it and throws up. Let me tell you, neither are enjoyable for him or me. Today he held a piece of apple in his mouth until he choked and threw it up. Problem was he was on my bed at the time. So now my bed cover is in the wash - a chore I had not planned on doing today. Oh well.
I suppose a little more understanding is to be required right now. Just before lunch Isaac was on the floor in my room whining and I went in to pick him up. As I started to rub his back I asked him if he just needed a little love. He gave me a big hug and said "yeah". I guess rough and tumble little boys need snuggles too.
On a different note: Our current choices for Halloween costumes are as follows:
Leah - Princess (big shocker there)
Mae - Bat (the flying kind)
Isaac - Booooot Ball (football)
Ok. I think the kids - or at least some of them - are asleep. That means I need to tackle a few more chores and get on the exercise bike. Those 20 pounds aren't going to just melt off....unfortunately.
